In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, the Governor of Mizoram vide Notification No.H. 11014/9/2017-GAD/Pt. dated 23.01.2025, has declared the 12th February, 2025 (Wednesday) as Public Holiday for all Government Servants including employees under Central and State Public Undertakings, Educational Institutions and Banking Institutions within Aizawl Municipality and Lunglei Municipality in order to enable the electors to exercise their franchise in the forthcoming General Election to Local Councils, 2025.
