The E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016 (E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016), as amended, Rules, 2018 have been updated by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986. As per Section 9 of the Rules, it is now mandatory for the consumer or bulk consumer to dispose of the generated e-waste through authorized manufacturers, refurbishers, dismantlers and recyclers. They must also keep the record of e-waste in Form-2 and submit the information to the State Pollution Board in Form-3 annually.
