The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), New Delhi vide Notification No. S.O. 1561 (E) dated 21.05.2020 prescribed certain conditions for coal transportation by Thermal Power Plants. Now, MoEF&CC, New Delhi vide OM No. J-13012/91/2008 IAII (T) dated 29.10.2020 has issued clarification on coal transportation in light of the above notification dated 21.05.2020. Until such time that the infrastructure regarding rail/ conveyor system is not established for coal transportation, it may be transported by road with tarpaulin covered trucks.
